Change Text document to always save as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP if you want to save in .doc format to share with friends or if your in a corporate environment who hasn't transitioned yet to OpenOffice documents. If not then by all means save in the OpenOffice native format as it's compressed an xml based and better open format for the future.
