Wriggle Review

Wriggle is a iphone puzzle game with 80 puzzles designed by Andrea Gilbert.

Here is Tom Jolly’s (co-designer) prototype of a Wriggle board puzzle probably many years ago.

Then finally put together as an iPhone app by Conlan Rios and it’s a nice result. Object is to move the blue worm by its’ tail or head to the blue flag and you must move the other words out of the way to do so.  It does get quite challenging and I do intend to finish it soon. Some puzzles only have 2 worms while others have 4 different colored worms.  Some ideas being thrown around are perhaps future puzzles will have each colored worm that must get to their colored flag.

Brain Freeze contains over 400 levels with new monthly packs being added. Touch to top/bottom/left/right side of screen to move all in that respective direction or turn on accelerometor to tilt if you wish.  Match up a pair to eliminate same colored stars.  I could be wrong on this but I believe it saves your level progress online which is a good thing since I’ve restored my ipod touch many times installing the new 3.0 beta firmwares and it remembers where I am.

Vexed!! contains 538 levels. Has a solve button that’ll show you step by step how to solve each level just in case if your stuck and thinking it’s impossible.  Move one piece at a time to match a pair and eliminate.

Super Fruitfall contains 50 levels. Tilt to move all at once to match up a pair of fruits. Not sure this version competes with only 50 levels although it does have an endless mode so might be worth checking out.

These puzzle games are quite fun if you don’t mind thinking ahead.  I own Brain Freeze and Vexed!! and play those every now and then.  I may pick up Super Fruitfall in the future though.
