Need for Speed Undercover NFSU is the best arade racing game. In fact its so good compared to the current crop that it forced me to remove three of my other racing app recommendations as I just can't tell someone to waste a few bucks here or there. Instead just get NFSU and be a happy camper. Everything is awesome and top notch in this game. 20 licensed cars you can purchase and can upgrade each car's top speed, acceleration, handling and nitro for each car. Choose body-kit, paint job, spoiler, suspension height, vinyls, and wheels.
Controls are:
steer tilt left or right
drift tilt very quickly left or right
accelerate is automatic
brake - tap anywhere on screen and hold
slipstream behind opponent
nitro boost - swipe up
speedbreaker mode (slow mo) - swipe down
pause - swipe with two fingers downward

Real Racing try demo (Volkswagen GTI and one track) is the best simulation racing game. It does not have licensed cars and music is indie music. Nor does it have as good of graphics as Need for Speed Undercover but not too far behind in the graphics department though. Having said that though it is a top quality game and you can play local wifi. Can choose between cockpit camera or external view. Manual or automatic acceleration and braking. The assisted braking by default is turned all the way up and it makes it super easy to take corners since it's intelligently braking for you. Best to eventually turn it all the way off once you get used to the tracks and driving style of the game though.
Still debating whether to add Asphalt 5 to this list or not.
