MacTheRipper has excellent documentation that comes with it. So this is very brief guide. It does handle ARccOS - DVD-Video Copy Control. Examples include The Grudge, Spanglish, Resident Evil 2 all region 1.

Always do Full Disc Extraction. Choose File | Save To to begin ripping.

UOPs restricts user from accessing Title, Menu, FastForward, etc. Forces one to watch FBI warnings, studio promos, etc.

De-Macrovision prevents viewing DVD via TV-Out on video card or copying DVD to VCR via standalone DVD player. You'll always want remove Macrovision.

New Region choose ALL unless you want to restrict it to your region for some odd reason.
DISC RPC: 1 indicates this is a Region 1 DVD.
1. USA, Canada
2. West Euope, Japan, South Africa
3. South East Asia
4. Australia, Spanish America
5. Russia, East Europe, Africa
6. China

RCE Region (Regional Coding Enhancement) is an additional layer of protection. If it's detected you need to specify the region you wish it set to. DISC RCE -CLEAR- indicates RCE protection is absent from this paticular dvd.

It'll begin ripping vob files to a VIDEO_TS folder on your harddrive.

After it's ripped you'll see this dialog.
Now you can proceed to use Popcorn or DVD2ONEX to transcode it.

IIRC correctly I ripped this with my internal DVD-ROM/CD Burner. It is CSS 2X locked. What that means is instead of taking about 15 mins to rip at 8X it'll only read it at 2X and it'll take about 45 mins.
